On Monday, PM Imran Khan approved a plan to develop the ‘New Blue Area’, an international-level commercial city, within the city limits of Islamabad. A 170 Kanal land is allocated in front of F-9 Park by the government for the project. The government would be able to generate initial revenue of approximately Rs 30 billion from the project.
Some of the revenue would be utilized for another project of Naya Pakistan Housing that is aimed at providing poor and low-income groups with low-cost housing units. The commercial city project would fasten economic activities in the capital but while also generating employment and promoting the construction sector.
The basic facilities provided to Islamabad’s residents would also feel an improvement under the project as it would see a doubling commercial space within the city.
