Climate change ministry to plant 250M saplings

ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, the Ministry of Climate Change announced that it will plant 250 million saplings in the spring season of this year.

PM Imran Khan began the drive on Feb 23 on ‘Plant for Pakistan’ Day, in Kundian Forest area in Mianwali district. Under 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Programme, the drive will continue across the country till June 30. It falls under the section of ‘Restoration of Degraded Forests’.

Malik Amin Aslam. PM’s adviser for climate change policy, said afforestation activities is a priority of the present government. He said a target was fixed with the aim to reinvigorate the country’s ailing forestry sector.
